Welcome back to our property makeover series! Helping hands, good friends, and good progress has flooded our week! Our cottage continues to look better with a finished roof, and electrical plan that is still in progress. Here is what’s new at our little home in the PNW!
Before I jump into the details, here is part one, part two, part three, and part four if you needed to catch up!
Roof Work
Some wonderful friends of ours, came out to help roof our cottage this past Saturday. Here is the before and after photos. Only a sliver of the roof was left for my husband to complete afterwards, and we are so thankful for their hard work because it looks just wonderful!

Electrical Work

As hard working and intelligent as my husband is, electrical work is not his favorite, nor his area of expertise. Having some other friends who could help with that, was a major blessing! Over this past week, they were able to get 70% of our electrical set up finished. By next Thursday, it should be ready to go!
More work is getting done on the outside, as well. This week, my father is bringing another round of gravel for the driveway. To finish it, and move our trailer shortly after, it will take 2-4 more loads of rock. Throughout the gravel loads, we’ll have our handy neighbor come blade it over with his tractor to get it all leveled properly. Friends, move in day is only 12 days away! Time is absolutely flying by. I’m praying if we don’t reach our set move in date, that we won’t be too far from it.

Things to Come
With that being said, the work on our trailer is going to start back up again, so more on that here soon! Flooring, girl’s bedroom, and almost the whole kitchen needs some fixing up. If you head over to my instagram, I’ll post updates as soon as that starts again. However, if you are more interested in the cottage, fret not! I will be posting an entire walk-through tour of the interior on there as well. That will give a much better idea of our layout.
The task list for our little home has not run out yet, friends. Once we move, the girls and I will be spending most of our time outdoors cleaning. We’ve moved tons (literally) of garbage, but miscellaneous things still float around our yard. It has been such a hectic season of life. It seems like time is moving quicker than we can, but the Lord has blessed us with such a good community of hard working men with willingness to help. We rejoice in the progress made, and when we are weary, we find our rest in Him.
“Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.”
1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
